The Magic Fountain

Barcelona has a alot to offer, the city has a large number of beautiful parks and museums to visit, and many stores to go for shopping. Another great feature of this city is The Magic Fountain, which is definitely worth seeing when visiting Barcelona.

The Magic Fountain was built for the Internaitonal Exposition of 1929, and was designed by the engineer Carles Buigas i Sans. The project consisted not only of the fountain itself but several cascades and smaller fountains along the way between the Palau Nacional, which is the city´s main exhibition center and Placa Espanya. The Magic Fountain ended up in a bad state as the years went by but for the Olympic games in 1992, a restoration was taken place of it which made the fountain active, once again.

During the evenings, depending on the season, the fountain is active and offers an incredible show with light, water and music, attracting hundreds of visitors each night. In the same time as the show, the Palau National is illuminated, giving a beautiful background and a splendid experience.
