For the 1888 Universal Exhibition, a total renovation was started at the park, by Fontsere Josep with the help of a then, young Antoni Gaudí. Gaudí designed the water projevct part of the park where it also was built a grotto under the waterfall.

With its 17 hectars, the park has a lot to offer. Many go running or by bike around the beautiful park. You can also hire a small boat and visit the waterfall. During the summer months, there are many activities in park for children.
