Churros con chocolate

Another speciality here in Spain that has to be enjoyed is Churros con chocolate. This
sweet dessert has spread worldwide and is very popular in for example the Latin American
countries. The churros consist of fried dough (often potato dough), in small long
pieces. Often sugar is sprinkled on it and you dip it in hot liquid chocolate sauce.

There are many different kind of churros, with chocolate taste, with cream filling, and
in Uruguay there are churros with cheese filling. In Spain, there are two main types.
The first one is thin, small and knotted and the other type is long and thick (more popular
around Madrid).

The Churros are often eaten for breakfast, and since most churrerias are open early in the
morning, many young persons have it after a night out partying. Except from churrerias, the
churros can be found in normal cafes also.
